Sarah is a passionate teacher and community volunteer excited to share her love of nature, mindfulness and movement with children of all ages. Sarah graduated from Western University with a degree in Childhood and Family Relations in 2007. After several years working to develop Affordable Housing for families, Sarah enrolled at Lakehead University to pursue her passion for teaching children inside the classroom and outside through nature. She graduated with a degree in Education and never looked back. Sarah has taught in both private and public schools and travelled abroad to teach English and immerse herself in new cultures.
While teaching in a Montessori classroom, Sarah was introduced to Forest School as part of the school’s curriculum. She loved spending one afternoon a week deep in the forest watching the children interact with each other and the natural world.
Sarah believes we have so much to learn from being together and exploring. Using our senses, physical movement and creativity we have the ability to really experience and be part of our own learning.
In addition to teaching, Sarah is a yoga instructor and volunteers teaching seniors exercise classes. She loves to spend her time outdoors hiking in the woods and relaxing near the shores of Lake Huron.
