Wildflowers Forest School Programs

Perfect for families who wish to combine Forest School programming with the traditional school environment, on-line learners or for those who are homeschooled.

At Wildflowers Forest School, in Waterloo, youth will:

  • Create a meaningful connection to nature, themselves and each other through team building games, tool use & creativity, storytelling, free play and ample time to explore the wonders of the forest around them.

  • Develop skills in self-sufficiency, competency, self-awareness & stewardship.

  • Discover themselves, test boundaries and explore the natural world!

  • Participate in a variety of activities designed to enhance their capacity for self-sufficiency, co-operation, and creativity.

  • Express and release their energy in healthy and active ways while enjoying the peaceful setting of the woods.

 

Wildflowers Forest School is situated on approximately 100-acres of land called Bechtel Park in Waterloo, Ontario. It offers many different types of vegetation, ecosystems, habitats, woodlot, and the Laurel Creek floodplain.

Winter Forest School Program Details

  • Fox & Kits (Parent & Tot Program; 18mths-6yrs)

    Tuesdays: 9:30am-11:00am 

    Start: Jan. 7th, 2025
    Fee: $126/9 weeks + HST

    Join us in this program where families with children have the opportunity to learn and share stories, songs, nature crafts, and mini adventures through the trees, and to bond deeply with each other, other families, and the family of the forest.

    Parent/Caregiver must be present during classes

  • Wednesday Wildwoods Full Day (5-12yrs)

    Start: Jan. 8th, 2025

    Wednesdays: 9am-3:30pm  
    Fee: $660/9 weeks + HST

    Who doesn’t love a day out in the woods?During this full day program children will express and release their energy in healthy and active ways while enjoying the peaceful setting of the woods.

    They will create a meaningful connection to nature, themselves and each other through team building games, nature-based crafts, free play, and ample time to explore the wonders of the forest around them.

    *Note that there is a 1 hour indoor time from 12-1pm at the indoor sports complex.

  • Wednesday Wildwoods Half Day (5-12yrs)

    Start: Jan. 8th, 2025

    Wednesdays: 9am-12pm  
    Fee: $305/9 weeks + HST

    Wednesdays: 12pm-3:30pm  
    Fee: $355/9 weeks + HST

    This is our half day option for those not able to do the full day Wildwoods program.

    *Note that there is a 1 hour indoor time from 12-1pm at the indoor sports complex.

  • Fee Assistance

    Please ask about our fee assistance program if fees are an obstacle for you. We try to make all our programs as accessible as possible for all those who wish to participate.
